Re: NFC: : political debates....my turn to rant

The sad truth is that we could run through the U.S.
Congress seat by seat and arrive at a dismal
conclusion about members' understanding of
environmental issues. I can think of two over the past
20 years I think have honestly understood what's
happening: Gerry Studds, formerly D-MA (who had a
personal problem...) and Sherwood Boehlert, R-NY, a
current member. There's a broad gray continuum, of
course; I like Senator Wyden of Oregon who would
probably rate low on Wright's scale, c'est la vie.

For truly stupid reactions of public officials you
need only examine the statements uttered over the
listing of the Alabama sturgeon as an endangered
species. I am truly embarrased that blood relatives of
mine have voted for some of these clowns: the usual
suspects Shelby, Sessions, Congressman Earl Hilliard
(D-Birmingham), etc.
