I don't know if it's the same way where you live, but here they charge 
around $20 for a propane cannister with trade, but only about $10 to 
fill one. Doesn't make sense to trade.

With CO2, some places will fill, but they make you wait. Unless you have 
an aluminum tank that you already own, there's no reason not to trade.
