cyanos and nitrogen fixation

Hi All...

Just to few points on Nitrogen fixation. This process is a very " expensive" process for bacteria
to carry out and they will only do it under conditions of ZERO nitorgen and ZERO oxygen. O2 will
destroy enzymes needed for N fixation to occur. I can't think of ANYONE who would have these
conditions in their tanks!. On the productions of CN...it is impossible because CN is a electron
transport decoupler and it would destroy the bacteria's ability to photosynthesis as well as
respire and fix N. So this is proabably not an issue.
