what to look for in a pet shop (?)

Hello all,
I am surveying a broad section of hobbyists to determine what they look for 
in a pet shop.  (I know - PLANTS! :-D)

I am going to try to put together a brief article for our club's newsletter 
and website.  If any of you could say a few words about what you like to see 
in a pet shop, what keeps you coming back - or why you choose one over 
another, i would very  much appreciate it.
