Re: trace mixes
Thanks to Jared Weinberger for pointing out some omissions in my previously
posted table with trace element ratios. Here is a corrected and
augmented re-post, with additional data from the

In search for alternative trace element mixes, I collected in the
past months data on some products. I thought that posting a summary in
here could be of benefit to others. This list is not exhaustive and
contains only products that disclose their quantitative makeup on the
label or elsewhere (web site). The quantity listed is the ratio of the
given element to Fe. Ratios below 0.01 are not listed. Products include
the original mixes described in the PMDD articles (1,2,3,4), commercial
preparations specifically designed for aquariums (5,6,7,8,9,10), and cheapo
products mainly designed for gardening (11,12,13,14). I used # 7 for about
6 mo. Then, for the past 8 mo. I've been using # 13, enriched with H3BO3
and MnSO4. Both work fine.
