I have given enough lectures as a teaching assistant to
be able to handle talking for an hour about fish to kids. Give me
an audience and something I like to talk about and a couple of hours
notice and I'll be more than glad to ...

Of course, I presume we are talking kids and not a professional
 audience here. :-)

To expand on this a little, how about this: how about developing an hour or
so program that could be used either as a verbatim talk or as a template. I
have some public speaking experience, but do not know enough to do something
from scratch. Maybe one talk for kids, another for nonprofessional adults.
One for adults could be used not only for aquarium clubs but perhaps
religious organization adult events, or schedule something for adults for
local library branch. (They are often looking for dependable speakers.)
Another interesting place would be to offer to speak at other conservation
related organizations: Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, etc. Arriving
with some local fish and being able to site local laws would be added
benefit. I think most states would be glad to provide copies of laws and
perhaps other conservation related literature at no expense as hand outs.
