Jobes Plant Sticks

The 16-2-6 (N-P-K) variety of the Jobe Plant sticks are labeled "for
ferns".

The result of your experiment make sense. As the phosphate from the
fertilizer dissolves, it makes it eventually into the water column. Just
don't apply the result it to a planted (fw) tank.

If you run a heavily planted, phosphate limited setup, then the phosphate
of two or three sticks every other month (in a 60 gal tank), is not going
to result in any measurable amounts in the water column.
