Most buzzing florescent fixtures are caused by old starters which give the
initial "spark" for the bulbs to begin glowing. Many of the newer bulbs
have built in starters (VHOs do) but if you are using plain old fixtures
you can try changing them. The starter is a small round cylinder that is
removable. Normal fixture starters can be replaced at Home Depot or other
similar store. I've found the aquarium hood styles' starters much harder
(read impossible) to replace. So buzzzz on!
