Algae ID

I have some pics of algae that I was hoping someone could help me with. It
is medium to dark green and fluffy like cotton candy. It looks like algae
snow on my plants. It is very easy to remove, but it won't go away. It
doesn't get on the glass and is starting to get on my substrate (Flourite).
Michael Rubin once described to me a type of Cladophora (the same genus that
makes the balls) that grows this way.

Any idea what it is and any thoughts on getting rid of it? I hope a
blackout will work on it because it's going to get one while I'm in
Yellowstone next week.

Thanks to Ricky-san for posting my pics on the DFW Aquatic Plants Club page
