Boycott called by CASC

I've been asked to forward this note from
an acquaintence who has a name deceptively
similar to mine.

Begin Attached message:

I've been requested by the Executive Board
for my organization to draft an "open
letter" calling for a boycott against
PetsWarehouse.com. We believe this issue
is relevant to your forum, so we are
attaching that letter below. We've also
asked for this letter to be posted at
a relevant site, http://petsforum.com/psw/.

Additionally, all membership dues to our
organization are being donated 100% to
the Novak v. APD Defense Fund (we subtract
no fees and no overhead) for the remaining
duration of this legal challenge.

Dear Robert Novak and PetsWarehouse.com:

This is an open letter calling for a Boycott
against PetsWarehouse.com by all members of
our organization, and by the General Public.

Our organization refuses to do business with
you, both now and in the future. Our
organization is profoundly disappointed with
your business practices. Specifically, we
believe your business is not conducted in a
professional manner in regards to order
confirmation, shipping charges, shipping in
a reasonable time frame (or when promised),
resolution of customer issues, and respectful
treatment of the customer. We believe you
dishonor yourself with your choice of words
in public forums that include personal
criticism by you and your representatives,
directed at your customers, and which has no
bearing on the business relationship or the
customers' transaction.

We are further shocked, amazed, and terribly
disappointed with your filing lawsuit in
Copiague, New York, USA, for US $15 Million
in compensatory and punitive damages against
your customers.

While we acknowledge all businesses must deal
with periodic challenges in supply, shipping,
staff, and customer relations, our primary
displeasure is based on your inappropriate
use of the courts to penalize the customers
that trusted you enough to place an order.
Do you really believe suing your customers
for US $15 Million in compensatory and punitive
damages is fair or just? Does it not matter
that the customers' disappointment was over
an order for mere tens of dollars? Does it
not seem ridiculous to sue people that made
no comment against you or your business, but
merely donated use of an email list for a group
whose focus is merely scientific discussion of
aquatic plants? Finally, how can you even
consider suing all of the subscribers to that
email list, even when they made no comment
against your business? (Parties #23, First
Amended Complaint, No. CV 01 3566)

Our organization establishes low and reasonable
levels of business standards that permit
significant problems to occur in the
business/customer transaction. You do not meet
these standards. As such, we are removing you
from our "Minimally Acceptable Businesses" list
and placing you on our "Not Recommended
Businesses" list (our lists are distributed to
all our members on a quarterly basis.) If in
the future you feel your business practices are
more in line with our organization's standards,
please feel free to petition for reinstatement
as a "Minimally Acceptable Business".

Sincerely,

Charles Bay
