I stopped by Albany Aquarium on San Pablo in Berkeley the other day and
since it had been well over two years since I have been there, some things
had changed. Bay Area people will probably know this, but it was nice for
me to see that at least one store within 100 miles has an emphasis on
freshwater plants. [truncated]

Hi Roxanne,
Same owner (Guy, pronounced Gwee), though perhaps he's shifted his design
aesthetics; the large 100+ gallon acrylic planted aquarium upstairs was
designed (and currently maintained) by Jeff Kropp! Jeff's 227L tank is
showcased at the AGA Aquascaping Contest, and with an interview @
<http://www.e-aquaria.com/exp_jkropp.html>.
Great store, and one of the first to bring in SAE's so long ago. Even if you
don't find what you're looking for, you can spend a lot of time staring at
the aquariums. For aquaplant emphasis, Ocean Aquarium in San Francisco (on
Cedar & VanNess) is excellent as well. :-)
Cheers,
Erik Leung
