I have raised Rosy Reds in an outdoor pond.  They seemed to breed pretty
easily.  They are egg layers.  They're simply a xanthic form of the fathead
minnow, Pimephales promelas.  The wild, gray color form is commonly
available at bait shops.  Have you tried that as a food source?
