Re: NFC: Pressure (prolly off-topic. :)

Plus with a U.V. sterilizer you want the water to flow slowly. Most of them
are rated for a "dwell time" of at least 5 seconds. Any faster and the stuff
in the water is not exposed to enough U.V. to do any good. Also you may to
loose the rainbow filter all together. In a tank of less than 100 gallons
like that it is probably overkill anyway. Go with something like a pair of
Emperor 400s you could get two of them online for cheaper than you could get
a new water pump. You could also go with a canister type filter with its own
motor and pump.

If you do decide to replace the water pump (and you are handy with tools,
and wiring) get a bilge/livewell pump from a boat store. They are more
powerful and WAY cheaper than "aquarium pumps". The only down side is that
they usually run off of 12 volts DC so you will need to rig up a ac/dc
converter but it will still be cheaper than getting a new high power
aquarium pump.
