I don't want to trash anyone, but I withheld my money from NANFA due to some
really juvenile political BS being orchestrated by its officers.

But taking both organizations as a whole, I think they both have the same
goals.  But I think NFC has more bias towards conservation issues while
NANFA seems to have more bias towards the aquarium hobby IMHO.
