Colin wrote concerning suggestions for carpet plants in his 33 gallon.

Colin, Steve P. suggested Marsilea crenata (sp) a while back as a viable 
replacement to Glosso.  I have it in a "low" light 20 gallon high and it is 
spreading slowly, but seems to be very hardy.  You might give this a try. 
 With your light levels it would probably do much better.
