Sure, dump it in. With all the phosphorous in it you will get spectacular
growth. however if you don't want to grow algae, you may want to consider a
fertilizer without phosphorous. Read the FAQ's. Go to the Krib and FINs. Do
net searches on aquatic plants. There's a lot of good stuff which answers
basic questions like yours.

Probably not until you exceed their nitrate tolerance.
