[APD] Truface???

I remember this (Turface) substrate being discussed here - a long time back?  What was the general consensus on using it in planted tanks?  Everybody seems to only talk Flourite these days.  I am setting up a new (another) tank and inquiring minds (and cheapskates<G>) want to know.
