I failed to say that I am growing plants in the aquarium, hence the CO2. I
have since tested the hardness:

GH is 60ppm or 3.4 degrees
KH is 10ppm or 0.6 degrees

Seems there is a rather large lack of KH and an abundance of GH?

I am also looking for an economical source of Flourite for a 55gal aquarium;
if anybody can recommend a source I would greatly appreciate it. I?m in
South Florida.
