David, PMDD stands for Poor Man's Dupla Drops.  It's a "roll your own" 
recipe for fertilizer that was designed with the phosphate limited tank in 
mind.  Read the paper "Control of Algae in Planted Aquaria" by Paul Sears 
and Kevin Conlin for more info (PMDD recipe is in appendix A):
