May be it's just pure luck, my 75 gal is entering the 5th week. So far no
algae just yet. I followed the advice to densely planted it from the start.
80% surface coverage, 3/4 of the plants are fast growing inexpensive
stem/floating plants. No water column fertilization in the first 2 weeks,
only trace elements. Phosphate-deplete the water with resin. Closely monitor
light level as green string algae usually show up under high light first.
Yamato shrimps and SAEs among the first residents.
