These fish are excellent eaters of fuzzy green turf algae. They will spend all day hopping around the bottom of the tank, taking large mouthfuls of the algae. If you are using them for algae control, be sure to regularly vaccuum out their droppings, as these make fertillizer encouraging more algae growth.
