Re: NFC: Votes
My won opinion: Close the lists. This is good for two reasons, though it
has negative reasons. I'll discuss both: First off, it cuts down on
SPAM. We don't get/see any SPAM on the NFC list, and trust me -- you
would if it wasn't post restricted (I average 2 Non member bounces from
spam a day.) Second, a slightly better reason. When JoeBlow posts a post
that belongs on the list, without being a member, we can give tehm
subscription instructions, and everyone knows, therefore they're sure to
get a reply directly.
The bad reasons are that its more work for the list admin -- which happens
to be me. :) It creates 2 mails for every nonmember post. Secondly, if
the listadmin doesn't check his mail frequently, nonmember posts will
never get thru. But, I think the good outweighs both.
As to a header... they're fine and grand when you're getting the word NFC:
stuck before teh subject. But... Predators: THis is a really long line
gets kinda long. However, it really does help sort out the mail. . . .
ANyone else have input on any bits of these, please e-mail them out..
either to me or the list.
