If you don't have constants, it's like comparing apples and oranges. As things
get bigger their surface area decreases in relation to the volume and shape. A
rectangular 120gal  24'X24"X48" aquarium has less surface area per unit of
volume than a 15 gal aquarium 12"X12"X24" 288 square inches for the 15 gallon,
19.2 square inches per gallon, 1152square inches for the 120,  9.6 square
inches per gallon.
