Re: lists - another idea - ONE list

Not too bad an idea... BUT:
You guys probably don't realize that someone has to MANAGE these lists,
and a machine has to handle the day to day running of the list (i.e,.
sending it). This uses up a list managers otherwise valuable time
(especially with Bounce: Non-Member Submission...., bad adresses, people
being jerks, spam, and so on) as well as neccessary server and proccessor
time. E-mail takes upa lot of room -- its not something easy to run, and
lists being ran on the machine are rather heavy. I manage NFC and
NFC-Digest, so, beyond the management stuff, I have to be subscribed to
both. When an adress goes bad an I start seing WARNING: Message Error X,
User Unknown, and all that fun stuff (ALL of which gets punted back) it
starts to fill up my mailbox, creating the above problems here, and making
me groan when I see theres now 1000 posts to my mailbox, all of which have
to get waded through, and so on.
To put it simply, and just state my point: A lists a lot of work, both on
a server and its manager, and not something all too simple. In the past,
its been pretty easy for me to handle, and I'd have said "Sure" to a few
more... but, as any fool can see with the new addy thats changed. . . . .
