WORKING ASSETS HELPS RIVERS—HELP WORKING ASSETS

Working Assets carries a VISA credit card and a long distance phone
service.
You can learn more about them at:
http://www.workingforchange.com/services/recipients.cfm.

Working Assets is a company that talks about supporting change and puts
its
money where its mouth is. Last year Working Assets customers got to vote
on
distributing about $5 million to good causes. Of that, $768,961 went to
environmental groups.

If you are a Working Assets customer and interested in nominating River
Network as recipient of funds, you simply need to send (by June 30) a
one-page letter (sample provided below) to:

Melissa Batchelder
Donations Manager
101 Market Street #700
San Francisco, CA 94105

A sample letter is provided below. Visit their web page for more
information. Make sure to note your Working Assets' member number on the
letter. As we have already submitted an annual report, proof of c3 status
and financial statement, you do NOT need to enclose the information with
your nomination.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

** If selected as a recipient, River Network is committing to you and to
Working Assets to put one-half of all funds received back into grants to
Partners. This is in the spirit both of Working Assets’ grassroots
support
and of River network’s mission. **

This is a competitive process and we greatly appreciate your support.
Please
do not hesitate to contact us with further questions. Many, many thanks!

Ms. Melissa Batchelder, Donations Manager
Working Assets Long Distance
101 Market Street #700

Dear Ms. Batchelder,

I am writing to nominate River Network to be a recipient of Working
Assets'
support in 2001. River Network is a national, nonprofit conservation
organization whose mission is to help people understand, protect and
restore
rivers and their watersheds.

River Network is the only national organization dedicated to providing
information and assistance to local river groups. Through its
publications,
workshops and professional staff, River Network is helping to build a
national river conservation movement. An investment in River Network is a
commitment to the growth and sustainability of grassroots organizations
across the country who are working to promote clean water and healthy
rivers.

If you would like further information as to why River Network should
receive your support - or if you have any questions - please feel free to
contact me.

Sincerely,
River McSaver
