I don't believe that there are any parasites that go from snail to
daphnia or daphnia to snail. The usual life cycle of the parasites
(Trematodes) that you are talking about involves a very complex life
cycle where they need 2 or 3 different host species to complete their
life cycle. The parasite can be picked up by eating an infected animal,
plant or by having free swimming parasites come into contact with an
open wound or injesting contaminated water. It usually does not seem to
be a problem in aquariums or small ponds (as far as reported cases goes
anyway). Just don't eat any raw snails and every thing should be fine;-)
