live to flake

Has anyone tried to  make dried or flake food out of surplus live food. 
I've only got two small tanks that need live food and  raising tiny
batches of live food is a pain, so I'd love to be able to use the
leftovers of larger batches to make flake food for my other tanks.  Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
