Having read that most worms die within the year I try to pick the larger ones for feed.
However it dosn't matter to your culture as they are so prolific. The time it takes for a baby worm to become a breeder varies from 4-6 weeks.
I found one of the most important elements to a successful worm farm was to change the bedding periodically.
