Re: Cutting Slate

Thomas Zaccone,
I cut tile and slate all the time using a circular saw. Purchase the cheapest
diamond tipped blade made for masonry applications at your local hardware
store. I bought mine at Lowes for $12.00. There are a number of ways to make
the cut but make sure each side is secure before cutting. I use clamps to
secure each side of the piece and then cut/score the piece halfway through
(being careful not to cut through the piece as I don't want the blade to hit
the work table) and then it will snap in two with a few taps from a mallet. I
am sure there are a thousand ways to secure the piece but I just use items
that I have in my wood shop. Hope this helps.
