Hello, I hope you all don't cringe at this, but in the California nursery trade we used to "cheat" by combining cool white and warm white bulbs. When using lots of long bulbs it is a lot cheaper and seemed to give good enough growth. I don't know if this is applicable to aquatics, but for some the special bulbs discussed are not so available.
