swim bladder disease?

If a fish can't maintain its balance and has a difficult time staying
upright it could be swim bladder disease or injury. In some of the
fancy goldfish, they have been manipulated to such an extent (breeding
wise) that some of the varieties do have problems staying upright. Your
fish could have been injured in some way.

I have heard of instances in some fish (again, primarily goldfish)
where they are fed food that isn't moistened to the extent their
digestive tract needs and it interferes with their balance. If this is
the case, it only happens after you feed them so you can always try
soaking the food to properly moisten it before feeding. Also, DON'T
overfeed them. Give them a few very small meals, not a big one.

Good luck.
