I haven't tried it yet, but I think illuminating from the top with
incandescent lamps and using a blue color correction filter (80A or 80B)
would make sense. Mount the camera on a tripod. Dim the lights in the room
to avoid reflections off the front glass. If you are shooting slides or
medium format, you could use tungsten balanced film and skip the blue filter.
The fluorescent lights you are using (unless they are Chroma 50's) are gonna
look weird on film because the color temperature will probably not match the
film, and they do not give anything close to a continuous spectrum and the
color rendering is not 100%. Incandescents will do much better if you
compensate for the low color temp.
