Thanks for pointing this out. All life, except namely some bacteria and
other organisms, respires aerobically (at least in active cells) 24hrs a day
whether photosynthesis is taking place or not. No O2 is needed to initiate
the process but it cannot be completed without O2 gas.
 Rest, not respire, is what I SHOULD have stated. I stand corrected and
thanks for stopping any perpetuating of misconceptions! We have enough of
that<g>.
