Careful, Paul. Fairy shrimp are not just closely related to brine shrimp.
In truth, brine shrimp are just one of the 22 species of fairy shrimp native
to North America. However, fairy shrimp are not shrimp at all, any more than
red-tailed sharks are genuinely sharks. Fairy shrimp fall into a different
class of crustacean altogether.
