DIY Yeast Explosion
I have a DIY yeast CO2 system feeding into a heavily planted 20g tank with large fancy goldfish, black mystery snail, ramshorn snail and a pleco. An hour after preparing the newest yeast-sugar mixture, I saw the tank was extremely cloudy with a backwash of the mixture. I immediately started draining the tank, removed the snails and did an emergency water change. What are the short and longterm implications, if any? Should I have done something differently and what should I do now? The tank is now back to normal as far as clarity but I"m not sure if any remaining yeast could cause some sort of problems later.
Thanks,
Jill Ridout
