Where I live, (southern Alabama) oyster shell is available as a
supplement for puoltry feed. It is available in any feed store, at
least it is here, anyway. I have used it as a substrate for a brackish
tank containing local species. Be forwarned: it is impossible to rinse
this stuff enough. It took over a week before my tank looked like water
again instead of milk.
