I think you mean 'tank' water. Not 'tap' water. Ich is virtually guaranteed
to be in your tank water (even if your tank was filled from the tap) because
most fish carry it (especially fish store fish). If fish are kept healthy
the won't be hurt by this but they are pretty much all carriers of it.
