I guess I still have my original question. Given that untreated chloramine
is so toxic to fish, wouldn't dosing a tank with tap water kill off the
biological filter? After all, its originally added to tap water to have
the same effect on other organisms. Or does adding it to the water somehow
bind it so it's not toxic to say a biological filter? I would think adding
tap water in a large enough quantity to a tank would produce a tank very
similar to tap water-devoid of life?
