From my personal experience, glass does not negatively effect lighting.
While in my bend it a little, or maybe diffract it a little too, I have had
just as much success with a glass cover to protect the bulbs. I curious what
arguments there are against glass under light?
My current tank grows very nicely with 80 watts over a pane of glass over 60
gallons.
