Hey Joe. It's always nice to be missed, only problem, I never left. Been
here the whole time. Unlike a lot of people on mailing lists and
newsgroups, if I don't have anything to say, I don't say anything <G>.

Don't give up on the plastic tube idea. Use a large diameter gravel
washer, and cut the end to fit over the outflow from the powerhead. You
could even leave the cap and vinyl tubing attached (on the opposite end
of course), thereby combining my approach, with Tom's.

I have one warning. If you're using multiple bottles to feed an
un-enhanced powerhead, disconnect half the bottles before adding a
diffuser. As an example, I have a 125 gallon tank that took four, 4
liter bottles, and one, 2 liter bottle, to get the Co2 level where it
needed to be. After adding the airlift diffuser, it now uses just two, 4
liter bottles.

While we're on the subject of DIY Co2 stuff, I've been experimenting
with Champagne Yeast (high alcohol tolerance) for the last 6 months.
Tried various combinations of sugar & yeast, both with and without yeast
nutrient, and yeast energizer. The result, no difference from bakers
yeast. The most I can get from any of it, is 3-4 weeks.
