Yep.  The "bananas" will also grow down quite a bit, especially in your
high-wattage tank (you'll probably get floating leaves!).  I had this
happen to me 7 or so years back... really healthy growth in a CO2+high
light tank, and when I finally had to pull out the plant, the storage
tubers had doubled in size.
