Hugo,
I belive the giant val will grow as big as it wants to :-)  I have a 125
gal (6 feet long) that it starts in one corner goes to the other and
returns.  The tank is using substrate gold, natural gold and CO2.  Every
week I must trim it to let light into the rest of the tank--I leave a
couple strands.  I have some leaves that are 1/4 inch and some as big as
one and a half inch wide.
