I use two C50's in my 46 gal planted tank (plus a GroLux). The only algae problems I had so far were due to the use of infected plants when I first assembled the tank. After some fertilizer management, algae are gone now. In my opinion C50's provide the best cost/benefit ratio for planted aquaria. -Ivo Busko Baltimore, MD
