In theory this should work fine.  The problems are:

Where do you get the LP regulator?
How do you convert the input threads (which will no doubt be wrong)?
How do you convert the output threads to barb?
How do you measure output pressure from the LP regulator?
How do you adjust the output pressure from the LP regulator?

If you solve these problems I would sure like to know how you did it.   It
could allow stable low pressure systems at a reasonable price.  Maxitrol
makes LP type low pressure regulators if you want a start on working on
this kind of system.
