Ferns can use them but this isn't nessary at all for ferns. Often ferns
are attached to wood, so they get their nutients from the water column
only, but Bolbitis does grow quite well in Fluorite. Most plants do very
well in Fluorite alone. A very good recommendable substrate ,BTW. Try
alittle( say1/4) Jobe's after awhile and wait and see how things react.
If your in doubt, just start small and use with caution keeping an eye
on plants/algae.
