  Amano like to use this because he sells it. Other companies sell it
because it has a low ash and phosphate content. I have never done any tests
with this carbon but it does work, as a carbon. I have heard good things
about it outside of the Aqua Journal. I must say that it is rather pricey at
$15 US dollars per liter. I know you can find better elsewhere. Bamboo
Charcoal is not inferior, but better to use. But you must keep in mind that
it also removed the good along with the bad.
