Re: Champagne yeast

I recently started what a series of experiments to find out if I could make
my yeast-bottle CO2 generators last longer - the only result worth sharing
so far is that a sugar-water solution with champagne yeast will last about
as long as a solution with baker's yeast (using equal amounts of water,
sugar, and yeast, and kept at the same temperture), but will generate
between 2 and 3 times as much CO2 (measured with a cheesy homemade gauge).

BTW: I was planning to start posting results at my web site soon, but I
don't think it's going to get done soon.  If you want to see results, then
by all means start your own experiment.
