PMDD

I am about to start dosing Mg and K using the PMDD formulas. From reading
the Sears/Conlin paper and from various posts, I've concluded that often
fast growing stem plants are used as indicators. I have an *excess* of
Altern reinckii (?) which grows roots at the internodes. Would this work as
a good indicator, or should I get some Hygro polysperma???
TIA
