Re: Re Oxygen

Lenka asks about oxygen with CO2 injected planted aquariums.

If you have plenty of plants in the aquarium and sufficient minerals,
light and CO2, the photosynthesis of the plants is generally able to
saturate the water with O2. If you don't have a test kit to check it,
you can notice tiny oxygen bubbles forming on the plant leaves called
"pearling". Check the archives on pearling for tons of my info and
speculation on the subject. Large fish like discus eat a lot and create
a lot of oxygen demand. Just be sure there is enough plants, light and
nutrients and all will be well. Don't worry about a little surface film;
its harmless.
