Amazon Sword photoperiod

I'm getting good growth out of my plants now in my CO2 tank.  The Sword
which had layed there dormant is now almost double in size since I started.
However, I'd like to know what it takes to get the runners to come back out.
I have the lights on a 12 hour timer.  Do I need to extend or shorted the
photoperiod?
